What is Next Step?
The Next Step College and Career Access Program is a Headwaters program in partnership with the Rappahannock County Public Schools. Next Step provides students with the resources they need to create and carry out the college, vocational school or career plan that will help them lead meaningful, productive, and successful lives after high school.
Next Step's Mission and Purpose
Next Step's mission is to help students dream up better futures by galvanizing the energy and resources of the Rappahannock community for the benefit of all students. This core program provides individualized assistance for students exploring the post-high school job market as well as assistance with application to four-year colleges, two-year colleges, and technical schools.
Jobs, Internships and Volunteers
Next Step facilitates an internship program for Rappahannock teens with local businesses and also connects volunteer opportunities and employment situations with qualified candidates. If you have a position that you would like to make available to high school students, or if you are a high school student looking for a position, please send a note to Ms. Habib.
